The Science of These  practices:

How does it actually work?

In order to understand how meditation can transform energy and consciousness in practical ways it is necessary to look at science. For well over half a century modern physicists have become aware of what ancient cultures in India, China, Egypt, etc, already knew, that matter and energy are the same thing. Einstein most famously stated that energy is the same as matter: E=mc². Matter is energy vibrating at a slower rate. For example, when two protons of matter collide in the sun their combined mass releases energy which is greater than the sum of their parts. The formula E=mc² means that energy and matter can be transformed into each other, i.e. that transformative processes concerning energy follow set laws of physics. One can see this very simply by throwing wood onto a fire. The fire consumes the wood, transforming its mass into light and heat. The energy created is the volume of light contained in the mass of wood: Energy = mass times speed of light squared, or E=mc².

Thus every mass of matter, of whatever material/energy; physical matter/energy, energetic/matter, emotional energy/matter   or mental energy/matter, which are in some dualistic relationship, can be transformed by collapsing their dualistic disposition thus releasing a non-dual light energy.

Fire is the supreme element which transforms others by collapsing them. It burns material, dissolves water, consumes air, transforms darkness into light and fire causes new life. The example of the sun is equitable with the human soul. The radiant field of light and heat from the life of the sun is likable to the body of the soul; its energy/matter body, which is also a field of light/consciousness heat/love,  and life-force.
